What’s the Difference Between P2000SK & P30SK?
The difference between Heckler & Koch P2000SK & P30SK is in the caliber. Although both guns have 9mm cartridges, the P2000SK is also available on a .40 S&W caliber. Thus, if you favor the heavier and snappier recoil of a .40 S&W, the H&K P2000SK offers you the better option.
However, P2000SK is relatively more expensive, especially with the factory night sights, which could be an additional consideration. But regarding the purpose, Heckler & Koch designed both guns for recreational shooting but not for target shooting.

Detailed Comparison
Design & Ergonomics
Made of a high impact polymer frame, you can find the guns lightweight and durable. Both are easy and comfortable to shoot as well for both right and left-handed shooters.
You can custom fit the guns because of the interchangeable backstraps and ready to install grip panels. Yet, H&K P30SK would get the crown for this as it offers more aggressive texturing and lateral grip panel options.
Ammunition - P2000SK or P30SK?
Heckler & Koch doesn’t recommend using +P or +P+ on the P2000SK vs P30SK ammunition as it can accelerate wear and tear. During our test firing, we encountered a problem with using lighter ammo on the P30SK.
Like other H&K P30SK owners, we recommend using a heavier load first to properly break-in on the pistol. As with the P2000SK, if you encounter problems with feeding your ammunition, keep pulling your trigger, and let the round feed itself.
Trigger
You can get multiple trigger variants on either H&K gun. So, whether you prefer a conventional double-action/single-action (DA/SA) pistol or the enhanced Law Enforcement Modification (LEM), both pistols got you covered.
If you’re after a light trigger pull and a crisp break, choose the LEM variant. Whereas, if you prefer the heavy double-action pull with a decocking button, the DA/SA variant could work for you.

P30SK & P2000SK Safety
Sights
The Heckler & Koch P30SK & P2000SK are both equipped with a three-dot sighting system. You can adjust the sights for both windage and elevation. Plus, if you prefer night sights, both guns have models that include them as the standard sights but with an additional cost, of course.
But for better target acquisition, we prefer the open rectangular notch rear sight of the H&K P30SK than the U-shaped notch of the P2000SK.
H&K P30SK & P2000SK Rounds
The P30SK has two sets of 10, 13, and 15 rounds mag while the H&K P2000SK has two sets of 9 and 10 rounds mag. Some of their models, however, also include three-round magazines.
As we ran over 1000 rounds on both guns, we found few malfunctions on the P30SK, but we realized it’s an ammo issue. Besides that, both guns fire smoothly.

Accuracy
Our team test-fired the guns for accuracy, and although the results yield positive results, we’re impressed with H&K P30SK’s performance. With a mild recoil, we found it easy doing quick successive shots at 15 yards. Likewise, with a sight radius of 5.85 inches, it’s slightly longer than the 5.18 inches sight radius of the Heckler & Koch P2000SK.
