What is Aimpoint ACRO P-1?
Aimpoint ACRO P-1, also known as Advanced Combat Reflex Optic, is a closed-emitter red-dot intended to be mounted on pistols and other weapon and gun platforms. It is the only professional-grade in its size category with enclosed systems that are also thoroughly tested for vibration, temperature span, shock, and other environmental stress.
Tested with 20 000 rounds on a .40 S&W caliber pistol slide, this small red dot has proven to lead to ruggedness and reliability. It also supports the two-eyes-open aiming method.
The ACRO P 1 Red Dot Sight features 3 5 MOA dot for faster target acquisition and a fully enclosed housing that seals all electronic components within its body. It uses a CR1225 battery that can be quickly changed without removing its battery compartment from the mount. Its battery life can last up to 1 5 years at setting 6.
PROS
- Clear glass, with a less blue tint
- Enclosed tube
- Easy battery replacement
- Fully enclosed housing
- Submersible up to 25 meters
CONS
- Nearly twice the weight of an RMR
How Do You Use It?

Best Features of Aimpoint ACRO P-1
Size & Weight
This ACRO optic is not lightweight like the RMR. It’s almost twice the weight of the RMR, weighing 2 1 oz. Its length is 1 9 inches, has 1 2 inches width, and a height of 1.2 inches. However, if you’d carefully consider its weight, it’s not so bulky or heavy like other red dot sights.

Closed Emitter System
Unlike most mini-open red dots, the ACRO is more well-protected because its LED reflected on the lens is not exposed. On the contrary, open sights let its overall weight be reduced, but it often leaves the lens unprotected against weather and collecting debris and dust.
Unique Mounting System
This red dot can be mounted to optics-ready pistols using optional adapter plates and a wide range of weapon platforms.
The mounting solutions that can cater to the ACRO are quick-detachable mounts for Weaver and MIL-STD 1913 Rail systems/Picatinny rail mount, and an adapter plate for Micro interface that allows compatibility with all Micro sights mounting platforms.
Brightness Settings
This red dot has ten brightness settings. As mentioned earlier, it always turns on at level 7. For brightness levels 1 through 4, you can use these for NV devices. On the other hand, settings 5 through 10 are for daylight use. Please note that there is no auto-shutoff or motion sensor; it’s on until you shut it off, and vice versa.

Aimpoint ACRO P-1 Benefits
One of the top product benefits of this red dot is its closed system optimized for a pistol, concealed carry gun, and firearm platforms that require a low profile red dot system.
It is also NV compatible, which lets you see even at night, and has a durable aluminum and anodized matte black finish. It is easy to install batteries because it doesn’t need to be removed on the mount.

Are There Drawbacks?
One of the drawbacks of the Aimpoint ACRO is its relatively heavy weight. It also uses an uncommon CR 1225. Lithium batteries are not rechargeable and have high internal resistance, so they can’t provide many continuous currents. [1]
