Though not present in SP 2009 or SP 2340 frames, the SP 2022 frame includes two slots inside its dust cover as shown below (photo courtesy of Gary Freebern):
The slots are for holding transporders, and are used by the French Police. The transponders include information such as the serial number and production date.
